General questions about web page development

We would like to have a Virtual Server with our own Domain Name but we do not know how to program, nor do we have the tools to do it. My organization doesn't even have a modern computer. Will you do our for us?

Answer
Yes, our Cyber-brochure (up to 4 pages and 2 graphics) will cost $250 and each additional page will cost $50. If you have special needs please contact us with a description of your needs and we will quote a price.

We already have a web page but the information is out of date. Will you update it for us even if you did not create it in the first place?

Answer
Yes. First you will want us to perform a free no obligation evaluation of your existing site. Click here for more information about our evaluation process. After that we will talk to you to determine your needs and provide you with a cost estimate. Our basic fee for updating web pages is $50 per page. If your pages require creating and adding new graphics or photos we will be happy to give you an estimate for that.

Can we have you design a web page for us to place on our own or a free web server.

Answer
Of course! If you are considering a free web server make sure you read all the materials provided. You will not have much input into what your domain name will be. Many times the free services will not allow you to promote a product and may even require that you let them have advertising "pop up" in your web pages) after all they need to pay for the free service somehow!). They also usually restrict how much space they will provide for free.

Can you add photos or animated GIFs to our web page?

Answer
Yes we can. Our programers make use of scanners, digital cameras, and a variety of graphic software packages. Please read the Essentials of Good Web Page Design section for a few cautions.

How experienced are your programmers?

Our award winning programmers have been programming computers for a number of years (as many as 25 years!). Most are members of the HTML Writers Guild (HWG) and subscribe closely to their standards. Our programmers will do everything possible make sure your web pages load fast and portray a professional image. They also utilize Meta tags within your home page to provide "key words" to the automated search engines.

How do I announce my website to potential customers?

There are a number of ways to announce your site. You will want to have your URL and email address added to your business cards, letterhead, and with all of your usual advertisements.

You can also connect to each of the search engines and add your information as all will take URL submissions without charge. There are also several registration services which will allow you to enter your information only once to submit to many major search engines. Fiona Web Goddess will also submit your website to at least 16 of the major search engines and local listings for $75.00.

How much new computer equipment will be business need to buy in order to have a web page?

None. Fiona Web Goddess will be happy to do all of the programming and if you buy a web site from us, we will even put it online for you. We can create and maintain a web site for you! There is no need for your organization to invest in any hardware.
